Terms of service

The Land Con U.S.
Effective Date: November 10, 2025
Website: http://www.thelandconus.com

IMPORTANT NOTICE — GUESTS & SCHEDULE SUBJECT TO CHANGE: Guest appearances and programming schedules are always subject to change due to professional obligations. Multi-guest photo lineups may change without refund. Announcement of a guest does not guarantee appearance. Photos/videos from past events (such as ones shown on this website) are illustrative only and do not guarantee any specific guest, activity, or feature. See Sections 5–6.

1) Overview & Acceptance

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the The Land Con U.S. website (the “Site”) and your purchase and/or use of event tickets, add-ons (including photo ops, autographs, meet and greets, etc.), and participation in the event (collectively, the “Services”). By visiting the Site or purchasing/using the Services, you agree to these Terms. A separate Privacy Policy will describe how we collect and use personal information.

2) Who We Are & What This Site Provides

The Site provides official information and announcements for The Land Con U.S. (the “Event”) and a platform to purchase tickets and add-ons such as photo ops and autographs, along with other experiences (e.g., receptions/panels when offered).

2A) Independence & Intellectual Property Disclaimer

The Land Con U.S. is an independently produced fan convention inspired by historical and period-drama storytelling. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Sony Pictures Television, Starz, Left Bank Pictures, Tall Ship Productions, or any other production companies, studios, or licensors associated with the Outlander television series or related properties. All trademarks, characters, and intellectual property remain the property of their respective rights holders and are used for descriptive and informational purposes only.

3) Ticket Tiers & Inclusions

Current ticket tiers: Platinum, Gold, Silver (Two Day), Silver (One Day).
Because inclusions may evolve, the most current inclusions are those posted on the Site at the time of purchase and may be updated.

4) Accounts & Eligibility

  • Account Required: You must create an account to purchase tickets or add-ons.

  • Information Collected: Name, billing address, email, phone number.

  • Age: Attendees under 18 must (a) have their own ticket, and (b) be accompanied by a ticketed adult at all times.

  • Children under 8 years old are not permitted to attend the Event.

  • Suspension/Termination: We may suspend or terminate accounts (and/or refuse entry) for violations of these Terms or Event rules.

5) Ultra-Clear Policy on Guests & Programming

  • SUBJECT TO CHANGE: ALL guests, programming, panels, times, dates, and locations are subject to change, often with short notice.

  • DUE TO THE NATURE OF GUEST WORK: Because of professional obligations and production schedules, cancellations and changes do occur for reasons beyond our control (including last-minute filming, travel disruptions, or studio commitments).

  • NO GUARANTEES: We do not guarantee the appearance of any specific guest, even if previously announced or scheduled.

  • Group Photo Ops: Lineups for group photos may change; no refunds will be issued for lineup changes in group photos (see Section 6).

6) Refunds, Exchanges, Cancellations

  • All Ticket Sales Are Final: Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable.

  • Add-On Eligibility (Entry Ticket Required): Add-ons (photo ops, autographs, Private Lounge, etc.) are available only to pass/entry-ticket holders. If you purchase an add-on without a valid entry ticket, you cannot use the add-on and it is non-refundable.

  • Add-On Availability: Purchasing an entry ticket does not guarantee the ability to purchase any add-on. Add-ons are limited in quantity and sold on a first-come, first-served basis.

  • Add-Ons (Single-Guest Photo/Autograph): If a specific guest tied to your single-guest photo op or autograph cannot attend or the schedule changes, we will attempt a comparable substitution. If the substitution is not satisfactory, we will refund the affected single-guest add-on.

  • Add-Ons (Multiple-Guest / Group): No refunds for lineup changes unless the entire Event is canceled as described below.

  • Event Postponement/Cancellation:

    • If the Event is postponed, your tickets automatically transfer to the new date; tickets remain non-refundable.

    • If the Event is canceled in full and no new date is offered, we will refund the face value of tickets and all affected add-ons (including single-guest and multi-guest photo/autograph/experience add-ons). Taxes/fees, travel, lodging, and other costs are not refundable.

  • Right to Modify: The Land Con U.S. reserves the right to make changes to the Event and schedule, including adjusting hours for photo shoots, autograph sessions, private/VIP experiences, and changing or adding products if circumstances require.

  • Resale Prohibited: Unauthorized resale/transfer may result in cancellation without refund.

7) Pricing, Taxes, Fees & Payments

  • Displayed Prices: In compliance with applicable ticket sales and consumer protection laws, all ticket and add-on prices displayed on the Site reflect “all-in” pricing. This means the price shown includes all applicable processing fees, facility fees, credit card fees, and sales tax—so the total amount you see is the total amount you pay at checkout.

  • Payment Methods: Major credit/debit cards

  • Payment Plans: Payment plans are currently in development. We hope to offer installment options soon.

  • Order Finality: Orders are final upon successful payment authorization.

Third-Party Ticketing Services

Tickets and add-ons for The Land Con U.S. are sold and processed through Leap Event Technology, a trusted third-party ticketing provider. By purchasing through Leap, you agree to comply with Leap’s own Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, which govern your use of their platform. The Land Con U.S. and Inspired Events, LLC are not responsible for Leap’s technical performance, payment processing, security measures, or data-handling practices. Any issues related to payment authorization, transaction errors, or technical malfunctions should be directed to Leap Event Technology’s customer support.

8) Entry, Safety & Code of Conduct (Zero-Tolerance)

Safety is our top priority. Violations may result in immediate removal without refund and may be referred to law enforcement.

Prohibited Conduct (including but not limited to): Harassment, stalking, threats, hate speech, discrimination, or abusive behavior; violence or unsafe behavior; illegal activity or possession of illegal items; unauthorized vending/solicitation; sharing/duplicating badges or bypassing security; failure to comply with staff instructions.

Security measures (e.g., bag checks, magnetometers) may be used. No warnings are required before removal.

9) Cosplay, Face Coverings & Props Policy

We love cosplay—with safety and respect:

  • Costume Face Masks/Helmets: Prohibited. Costume masks or helmets that obscure the face (full or majority coverage) are not allowed anywhere on Event premises.

  • Medical/ADA Face Coverings: Permitted. Medical or ADA-related face coverings are allowed. Security may require brief removal of any face covering for ID verification.

  • No Weapons: No weapons of any kind (real, replica, airsoft, metal blades, projectiles, hard batons, stun devices, etc.). Props must be soft, non-functional, and clearly fake.

  • No Indecency/Hate Symbols: Costumes must be family-friendly and free of obscene or hateful imagery.

  • No Hazardous Materials: No substances/materials that could damage property or harm others (liquids, confetti, powders, pyrotechnics).

  • Staff may inspect, tag, or reject props/costumes at their discretion. Non-compliance can result in removal without refund.

10) Photography, Filming & Recording

To protect guest rights and the overall attendee experience:

  • Panel Recordings: Photography and recording are permitted during panel discussions. However, flash photography is only allowed during the first five (5) minutes of each panel. After that time, flash use must be discontinued to avoid disrupting guests and speakers.

  • Strictly Prohibited: Photos, video, or audio recording during meet & greets, photo/autograph sessions, VIP or intimate experiences, the Friday evening party, and any areas or times specifically designated as “no recording.”

  • Guest Protection: Unauthorized photography or recording of guests is not allowed at any time. No selfies with guests unless you are participating in a paid selfie photo session explicitly designated by the Event.

  • Personal Photos: You may take casual personal photos in general common areas where permitted, as long as you do not disrupt traffic, block access, or capture guests without authorization.

  • Official Photo Ops & Autographs: Images and prints from official photo ops are licensed for personal, non-commercial use only and may not be used for merchandising or promotional purposes.

Organizer Photography & Recording (Image Rights)

We (including our contractors and media partners) may photograph, film, or otherwise record the Event, and you may be identifiable in such recordings. By attending, you grant The Land Con U.S., The Land Con, Inspired Events, LLC, and their designees a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, distribute, display, perform, and create derivative works from your image, likeness, and voice captured at the Event for promotional, advertising, archival, news, and other lawful purposes, in any media now known or later developed, without additional notice or compensation. This consent does not require us to use any recording and does not imply your endorsement of any product or service.

If you bring a minor, you represent and warrant that you are the parent or legal guardian (or have the authority of the parent/legal guardian) and you consent on the minor’s behalf to the image-rights grant above.

Photo Ops, Autographs & Private Room Rules

  • A photo-op ticket allows one person to take a photo with the guest. If you want to be photographed with others, each person must have a photo-op ticket. A photo op is a photo of you and the guest taken by a professional photographer.

  • Pace & Retakes: Sessions move quickly. No retakes if, despite staff/photographer warnings, you are not ready, your eyes are closed, or there is glare on glasses. We are not responsible for missed shots.

  • Poses & Boundaries: Hugging requires a hugging pose request during your photo op. No carrying or lifting, and no kissing or attempts to kiss. Phone selfies are prohibited except within a paid selfie session expressly designated by the Event.

  • Prints & Pickup: Details about printed photo handling, pickup windows, and any mailing options/fees will be communicated prior to and/or during the Event.

  • Autographs: An autograph ticket entitles you to one guest signature. Actors may require official items (e.g., DVD, poster, book) for signing; at their discretion, a guest may allow personal items. Guests may refuse to sign certain items (e.g., intimate items, paparazzi photos, or items they find objectionable).

  • Scheduling: A guest may appear on only one of the Event days or part of a day.

  • Gifts: Gifts for guests may be presented only during autograph sessions.

11) Accessibility (ADA)

We are committed to providing an accessible Event in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and applicable state/local laws. Reasonable accommodations may include accessible seating, companion seating, service-animal access, and line accommodations, as available.

  • Accommodation Requests: Send us a message on the Contact page at least 14 days before the Event with your request. We will make good-faith efforts for later requests but cannot guarantee availability.

  • Service Animals: Permitted consistent with ADA. Emotional-support animals that are not service animals are not permitted.

  • Accessibility Info: Venue-specific accessibility details will be posted on the Site when available.

12) Venue Rules & Re-Entry

Attendees must comply with all venue rules. Re-entry policies, bag limits, prohibited items, and other venue terms will be posted on the Site and may be updated at any time.

13) Intellectual Property & Personal Sharing

All Event content, branding, artwork, and materials are owned by their respective rights holders, including The Land Con, The Land Con U.S., Inspired Events, LLC, and other licensors/partners. These Terms grant no commercial rights.

  • Personal Sharing: You may share personal photos from your Event experience for non-commercial use.

  • Professional Photos You Purchased: You may share official or professional photos you purchased from the Event for personal, non-commercial use, provided you keep the original watermark and LandCon logo visible when sharing. Photos may not be altered, edited to remove branding, or used in any way that implies endorsement or for commercial purposes.

Any commercial use requires prior written permission.

14) Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

  • No Warranty: Services are provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access.

  • Assumption of Risk: Attendance at live events involves inherent risks. You voluntarily assume all risks related to attendance and participation.

  • Technical Failures & Scheduling Tools: We are not responsible for errors, delays, outages, or malfunctions involving ticketing platforms, payment processors, scheduling apps, QR codes, venue networks, or power. Your sole remedy is reasonable assistance (e.g., reissue of credentials) where feasible; refunds are governed exclusively by Section 6.

  • Third-Party Vendors & Sponsors: Experiences, goods, or services offered by independent vendors or sponsors at/around the Event are the sole responsibility of those providers. We are not liable for their acts, omissions, terms, or offerings.

  • Third-Party Services: We are not responsible for third-party sites/services linked from the Site.

  • Limitation: To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for claims relating to the Services shall not exceed the amount you paid to us for the ticket/add-on giving rise to the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; where prohibited, those limitations do not apply.

15) Force Majeure

We are not liable for delays, changes, or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including acts of God, public health orders, labor disputes, governmental actions, terrorism, severe weather, utility outages, or venue unavailability.

  • Postponement: If a force-majeure event requires postponement, tickets automatically transfer to the new date; no refunds are due.

  • Cancellation: If the Event is canceled in full due to force majeure and no new date is offered, we will refund the face value of tickets and all affected add-ons (including single-guest and multi-guest photo/autograph/experience add-ons) as set forth in Section 6. Taxes/fees, travel, lodging, and other costs are not refundable.

Except for the refunds described above, we are not responsible for additional compensation, damages, or costs arising from force-majeure impacts, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

16) Privacy

We will maintain a separate Privacy Policy describing our data practices. By using the Services, you consent to the collection and use of information as described therein.

17) Enforcement; Refusal of Service

We may deny access to or remove any person for any reason, including violations of these Terms, venue policies, or applicable law. No refunds will be provided in such cases.

18) Governing Law & Venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. You agree to the exclusive jurisdiction and venue of the state and federal courts located in Travis County, Texas.

19) Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Effective Date” above reflects the latest version. Material changes will be posted on the Site and apply prospectively.

20) Pre-Contractual Information & Customer Acceptance

Before placing an order and concluding a contract, you are provided, in a clear and understandable manner, with these Terms and the following information:

  • the essential characteristics of the Event;

  • the price of entry passes (with all taxes and fees included) as displayed at the time of purchase;

  • the fact that optional add-ons (e.g., photo ops, autographs, or experiences) will be announced and priced separately at a later date, and that their prices will always be disclosed before purchase;

  • the general timeframe and city of the Event, with the specific venue details to be announced;

  • our identity and contact details;

  • the absence of a right of withdrawal for dated leisure services and other key contractual conditions;

  • the Privacy Policy; and

  • accepted payment methods.

By placing an order on the Site, you fully accept these Terms and agree to pay for the passes and any additional products ordered.

21) Contact

Questions, customer support, or requests (including accessibility) can be sent via our Contact page.

22) Dispute Resolution, Arbitration & Class-Action Waiver

Please read this section carefully. It affects your rights.

(a) Informal Resolution. Before filing a claim, you agree to first contact us at team(at)thelandconus(dot)com and attempt to resolve the dispute informally within 30 days.

(b) Binding Arbitration. If not resolved, any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Services will be resolved by binding arbitration on an individual basis, administered by JAMS (or AAA if JAMS is unavailable) under its applicable rules. The Federal Arbitration Act (FAA) governs the interpretation and enforcement of this arbitration agreement.

  • Location & Format: Arbitration will occur in Austin, Texas (Travis County), or by video/teleconference if in-person is impracticable.

  • Arbitrator’s Authority: The arbitrator may award relief only in favor of the individual party seeking relief and only to the extent necessary to provide such relief.

  • Small-Claims Exception: Either party may bring an individual claim in small-claims court in Travis County, Texas instead of arbitration.

(c) Class-Action & Jury Trial Waiver. You and we agree that each may bring claims only in an individual capacity, not as a plaintiff or class member in any class or representative action. There is no judge or jury in arbitration, and court review of an arbitration award is limited.

(d) Opt-Out. You may opt out of this arbitration agreement by sending a written notice to team(at)thelandconus(dot)com within 30 days after you first agree to these Terms. Your notice must include your name, the email associated with your account, and a clear statement that you wish to opt out of arbitration. Opting out will not affect other provisions of these Terms.

(e) Severability. If any part of this Section 22 is found unenforceable, the remainder will still apply, and the unenforceable part will be replaced with terms that most closely match the intent while remaining enforceable; however, the class-action waiver may not be severed as to any claim unless the entire arbitration agreement is unenforceable.
